Apple Buys Music Streaming Company CLICK HERE >>> https://tinurll.com/2tE7qq Apple Music is a streaming service that allows you to listen to over 100 million songs. Its features include the ability to download your favorite tracks and play them offline, lyrics in real time, listening across all your favorite devices, new music personalized just for you, curated playlists from our editors, and much more. All this in addition to exclusive and original content. CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA AND LONDON Apple today announced it has acquired Primephonic, the renowned classical music streaming service that offers an outstanding listening experience with search and browse functionality optimized for classical, premium-quality audio, handpicked expert recommendations, and extensive contextual details on repertoire and recordings. Beats Music was a subscription-based online music streaming service owned by the Beats Electronics division of Apple Inc. The service combined algorithm-based personalization with expert music suggestions from a variety of sources. On July 2, 2012, Beats announced it had acquired the online music service MOG, reportedly paying between $10 million and $16 million. Beats officials said this the acquisition was part of the company's goal to develop a "truly end-to-end music experience." The acquisition did not include the company's blog and advertising network, the MOG Music Network,[2][3] which was sold in a separate transaction to the broadcasting company Townsquare Media in August 2012.[4] MOG initially indicated that it would continue to operate independently with no immediate change in service.[3] A few months later in December 2012, the company hired Trent Reznor of the band Nine Inch Nails to serve as its Chief Creative Officer, and to help develop a new music service codenamed "Daisy". As opposed to its competitors such as Spotify, in Daisy the plan was to use "personalization" based on user listening habits in combination with expert music curators to suggest tracks. The company initially announced a launch by late 2013.[5] The company had hired music industry members, radio personalities, and songwriters to serve as a music curation team for the service, led by former Clear Channel Communications executive and KIIS-FM music director Julie Pilat.[6][7] On March 4, 2014, Beats Music acquired Topspin Media, a company which deals in the monetization of music and building relationships between musicians and their fans. Beats Music CEO Ian Rogers had left Topspin to join the service.[10] Apple's business philosophy is to acquire small companies that can be easily integrated into existing company projects.[6] For instance, Apple acquired Emagic and its professional music software, Logic Pro, in 2002. The acquisition was incorporated in the creation of the digital audio workstation software GarageBand, an integral part of the iLife software suite, and now one of the leading digital audio workstations on iOS and MacOS.[6] With a subscription, you pay to access content from an app or service for a period of time. For example, you might subscribe to Apple Music on a monthly basis. Subscriptions include services that you sign up for in an app, such as a video or music streaming service. So which music streaming services offer the best combination of price, sound quality and library size? Read on to find an in-depth look at each of the services and a feature comparison, along with a full price breakdown in the chart at the bottom of the page. We'll update this list periodically. Spotify is a pioneer in music streaming and is arguably the best-known service. It offers a number of curated music discovery services, including its Discover Weekly playlist, and is constantly implementing new ones, such as Stations and an AI DJ. The service has also ramped up its nonmusic content with a push toward podcasts, which indirectly led to folk-rock icon Neil Young removing his music from the service. When it comes to choosing a service, it's a close race between Spotify Premium and Apple Music, but Spotify still wins as the best music streaming service overall. This is thanks to a fun, easy-to-use interface, an extensive catalog and the best device compatibility. Spotify also offers the best free tier: Without paying a dime or providing a credit card number, you can listen to millions of tunes and even stream Spotify Connect to numerous Wi-Fi devices. Unlike Spotify, competitors like Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited and Tidal are now offering lossless or even Dolby Atmos music at no extra charge. Meanwhile, Spotify's planned HiFi (lossless) tier is still MIA and the company can't say when it will be coming. In addition, the company hiked prices on a number of plans in 2021, even though the base price remains $10 a month in the US. At 70 million tracks, Qobuz's streaming catalog rivals Tidal's and Spotify's in number, though it may not have the most obscure artists. Qobuz generally steers towards hi-res recordings so it is especially suited to jazz and classical fans, though its rock selection is fairly robust. The fact that it's cheaper than Tidal, and doesn't require specialized equipment to listen in 24-bit/192Hz, makes Qobuz our favorite service for serious music lovers. Amazon was one of the first services to offer uploading your MP3 collection into the cloud, but this was officially discontinued in 2018. Meanwhile, both the Apple and YouTube services allow you to combine your personal music collection with the streaming catalog, though tagging and organization can be a time-consuming challenge (your myriad live Phish tracks won't organize themselves). Still, if you've invested money in digital music over the years, those two services offer a patch to continue enjoying that music online. Mega tech corporation buys, shuts down, and swallows the intellectual property of tiny tech company. It's a story we see over and over. This time, trillion-dollar corporation Apple acquires Primephonic, a pioneer in serving classical music listeners as a niche streaming music service. Primephonic's departure to Apple-land leaves Idagio the sole classical-only streaming service in the field. Primephonic's distinguishing features have been its podcasts hosted by noted classical musicians and its curated playlists, though it lacks Idagio's live-streaming concert options. Apple's press release doesn't mention the podcasts. Jay-Z is no novice when it comes to the business of music. Estimated at around half a billion dollars, the mogul has decided to enter the music streaming business by buying Swedish company Aspiro for the equivalent of $56 million. Aspiro runs two music streaming services called WiMP and Tidal that will now be owned by Jay-Z (talk about two birds). This acquisition adds music streaming to his growing collection of companies that include clothing company Rocawear, recording label Def Jam, the 40/40 Club, and sports agency Roc Nation Sports. However, Apple failed to see music streaming as the next evolution of digital music, with CEO Steve Jobs vehemently against it. Instead, for half a decade, a small Swedish developer was able to grow with hardly any serious competition. Keyword Optimization Cycle TemplateThe Keyword Optimization Cycle simplifies finding the best keywords by providing a template to effectively structure your research process. The acquisition of Beats Electronics for $3 billion was the first sign Apple were willing to try music streaming. It closed Beats Music and launched Apple Music in June 2015, with a lot of artists coming out to support the app. Apple also launched several radio stations featuring prominent artists and DJs, including ex-BBC Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden. Now, I split my listening between Sirius XM (SIRI) and Spotify. Though, I probably use Spotify 65 to 75 percent of the time. But the amount of time I'm spending with Spotify continues to increase. This increase started because nobody executes the music component of streaming as well as Spotify. Spotify offers superior on-demand listening, curated playlists, and radio-like experiences. It has cultivated an environment (or an ecosystem?) that makes Pandora (sad as it is for me to say) and terrestrial radio (also sad) look weak. When I look at all of the paid subscriptions combined today, the IFPI has that number at, call it, $12 billion. Then you look at radio and the entire US radio industry in 2017 or 2018, on just the ad side, was $18 billion - that's larger than the entire streaming [business] for the music industry (emphasis added). The simple answer is that classical music metadata is vastly different from that of modern pop music. In addition to the comprehensive catalog, Primephonic was built around the idea of making classical music searchable and discoverable in the age of streaming music. The Newport Beach, Calif.,-based company broadcasts live and recorded events, such as sports games and music concerts, for virtual-reality headsets. It has a long list of high-profile partnerships that include the National Basketball Association, the National Hockey League, World Wrestling Entertainment, Fox Sports, and Live Nation. And yet, Apple is still being petty as hell about the whole thing. In July, the company submitted a proposal to the Copyright Royalty Board, the government body that determines how much streaming services are required to pay songwriters and publishers for their music. Apple wants to simplify the current labyrinthine calculation method by having streaming companies pay 9.1 cents per 100 plays. Apple is exploring the purchase of rival music streaming service Tidal, which is run by rap star Jay-Z, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1449240174198-2'); }); The paper said Apple is interested in using the company to beef-up its own year-old steaming service Apple Music. Apple's ambition in music continues to be misunderstood. Most of the focus remains on the battle between Apple Music and Spotify for paid music streaming subscribers. However, the much more interesting development relates to Apple's desire to grab music mind share. Apple is aiming to leverage its strong balance sheet to control the music narrative, and in the process, remove all of the oxygen from the music streaming industry. 781b155fdc
